13 year old Jayden Gunsby has been charged with murder after shooting and killing a 20 year old man in LaGrange on Easter Sunday.
He’s being charged as an adult for murder. Police put out a “be on the lookout” for Gunsby on Monday afternoon. LaGrange police arrested him shortly after 11 p.m. on Monday.
Channel 2′s Audrey Washington was in LaGrange Tuesday, where there was a small memorial for Lindsey.
Washington talked to Mike Merideth with the NAACP of Troup County, who said he and other members assisted the Gunsby family with the surrender.
Police have arrested 13-year-old accused of shooting and killing a 20-year-old man earlier this month.
Investigators said they were called out to a shooting near McGregor and Colquitt streets in LaGrange on April 9. The shooting was one of several on Easter Sunday across Georgia.
He is being charged as an adult in the shooting death of 20-year-old Davaris Lindsey, which occurred on Easter, a day where most people are in church and spending time with their families. A court of law will ultimately hear this case, but no matter how it turns out, it’s a sad situation. A 13-year-old, someone who hasn’t really even had a chance to know what life is, is being investigated in a murder case. Gunsby hasn’t even had a chance to go to high school yet. He doesn’t have a driver’s license. But he’s a murder suspect. Let that sink in. Not to be lost in the arrest of a young child is the fact that Lindsey and his family deserve justice after he was shot multiple times on McGregor Street on that tragic April 9 day.
