According to reports and confirmations by Virology Laboratory of Lagos University teaching hospital, after an Italian man was tested positive to CoronaVirus. CoronaVirus entered Nigeria through an Italian man, who visited Nigeria for a brief business visit on February 25, 2020. The next day(February 26, 2020), he fell ill and was immediately transferred to Lagos state Biosecurity facilities for isolation and testing. Currently, the patient is being managed at the infectious disease hospital in Yaba, Lagos state, Nigeria.
The moment Lagos state government received the information about CoronaVirus in Lagos state, it was immediately reported to the Federal Ministry of Health. This will be the first reported case of CoronaVirus in Nigeria.
Governor of Lagos state, His Excellency, Babajide Sanwo Olu tells Nigerians not to panic, as he ensured that the measures in combating the virus are available and will be effective.
