Unilag Senate appoints new Acting Vice Chancellor

A new Acting Vice Chancellor of Unilag has been appointed by the Senate and she goes by the name, Professor Folashade Ogunsola.

Meet Professor Folashade Ogunsola:

1. She's a 62-year-old professor of Clinical Microbiology.

2. She is now the Former Deputy Vice Chancellor (Development Services) since 2017.

3. She was the first female to be the provost College of Medicine at the University of Lagos.

4. She broke Unilag's 58-year record by becoming the first female to be appointed as an Acting Vice Chancellor since the establishment of the citadel in 1962.

Today, 167 Unilag Senate members met for an emergency meeting to elect a new Acting Vice Chancellor after Professor Ogundipe was sacked. 

Professor Folashade Ogunsola fantastically won as the new Acting Vice Chancellor with 135 votes. She defeated Professor Ben Oghojagor, who had 31 votes.
