Journalist, Kelechukwu questions the transparency of elections in Nigeria after his sad experience in Edo State

Nigerian journalist and freelancer, Kelechukwu Iruoma, is questioning the transparency of elections in Nigeria after his sad experience during Edo State election yesterday.

Kelechukwu took to his Twitter page to ask if there would be a time in Nigerian history for elections to be conducted without some evil practices being involved.

Evil practices, such as: vote buying, fighting, use of thugs/hoodlums to threaten voters, etc. The aforementioned cases are indeed a serious problem during elections in Nigeria. The question is, would such cases end someday?

According to Journalist Kele, he says the election went well in the polling unit he covered but there was massive vote buying and COVID-19 protocols were not strictly adhered.

"It's 11:10pm. I just concluded my work after covering #EdoDecides2020.
The election was peaceful, where I covered.
COVID-19 protocol was not strictly adhered to and there was massive vote buying by both APC and PDP.
You think vote buying will end in Nigeria? I doubt," he tweeted.
