(Video) "In the next 5 years there will be no Nigeria" - Desmond Elliott speaks on hatred from social media

Lagos State Honourable for Surulere Constituency, Desmond Elliott, is speaking against social media, social influencers and Nigerian celebrities. According to him, he says social media is responsible for the end SARS protest and hate words in Nigeria.

During meeting at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Desmond Elliott says if social media isn't regulated, there will be no Nigeria in 5 years to come. He even referred to Nigerians as 'children.'

In his words, he said:

"Mr. Speaker, we need to address certain things. The Nigerian youths, the social media, the social influencers. All of these are making the narratives that we are seeing today, except we are joking with ourselves.
Social media.... Has it negative impact. Let me first thank you for condemning the....

"When, I went through the comments I couldn't believe it. Mr. Speaker, the curses, the abuses from children and ask myself: Is this Nigeria? What's going on?
Children cursing. Youths having the effontery to enter an Oba's palace to steal the staff of office. Culture is gone. Mr. Speaker, in the next 5 years, there will be no Nigeria, if we don't start now.
The youth is not only those who did the peaceful protesters, those who have looted. Those who have destroyed lives, they are youths as well.
Mr. Speaker, pregnant women went into malls, loot things and went away. When shall we change our these narratives. I put it to all the celebrities, all the motivation speaker, this is the only country we have. The wealth will go, when anything happens. What's our common say 'we die here.'
Please, celebrities, please social media Influencers, stop the hatred already.
You've a means constitutionally to change Government. It's called your PVC (Permanent Voter's Card)."
