Unilag lecturer's son, David Ntekim-Rex shot and dies due to negligence from police

A sad news has hit the Ntekims yesterday. The sad news was about their second son, David who was robbed and shot in Jibowu, Lagos on Friday. His mother is a Unilag lecturer at the Department of English.

Taking to his Twitter page, Dr. Ntekim-Rex's nephew, Roy Mustang, shared the full details of how David Ntekim-Rex died. Sharing the details, he wrote:

"My 'auntie' has three sons. She's always crazy about them. The middle child, David, is the most promising. He's tech guy; very young, very brilliant. David was on his way home on Friday night when he was robbed, shot and killed around Jibowu. Please say a prayer to my aunt.

"David got shot around 8pm. The police were called, David hadn't died yet. The Nigerian police stood and watched as he gasped for air. They took pictures instead and were more concerned with why he - a tech guy - was carrying a laptop. Nigeria failed you, David.

"David wasn't attended to by the doctors at LUTH. He was there till the family was convinced he couldn't be alive because he had no pulse. The doctors refused to administer any test to see if he was alive."

According to Roy, he says David was in the process of interning with a tech giant company, Microsoft. He continued by saying that David had even had an interview with Microsoft; the South Africa office.

"This is someone that was in the process of interning with Microsoft. He even had an interview with South Africa office. I'm a blogger broken," Roy tweeted.
