A man in Enugu state has been beaten or flogged by Ori Okpa masquerades during Omabe Festival celebration in Ibagwa-ani in Nsukka LGA of Enugu State. Nigerians are currently calling the man "a lazy man" for allowing himself to be beaten like a kid by masquerades.
In the trending video on social media, Ori Okpa masquerades were seen harassing and flogging a man with what looked like canes or koboko (horse tail). Two eyewitnesses have come up with their own stories. The first eyewitness says the man insulted the masquerades.
Another eyewitness says the man refused to give money to the masquerades. Omabe Festival is usually celebrated by the people of Ibagwa-ani in Nsukka LGA of Enugu State. The Festival is celebrated at the beginning of every year.
