Buhari's failed government leads to strikes in different sectors in Nigeria

President Muhammadu Buhari's failed government has led to strikes in different sectors in Nigeria. The educational, law, health, civil and public servant sectors.

In the early hours of Tuesday, the president of ASUP announced that the Polytechnic staff are going on an indefinite strike. Another educational sector, ASUU, is threatening seriously to embark on another strike after its just concluded 9-month strike.

The health sector - medical doctors are currently on strike. Law sector - Supreme Court has been shut down as lawyers and judges embark on a strike. NLC is planning to embark on strike.

While all these sectors have gone on strike or planning to go on strike over unpaid salaries, lack of care, etc, President Buhari and his failed party - APC don't care. President Buhari shamelessly travelled to London for medical checkup, leaving the health sector in Nigeria to suffer. What a president!

ASUP president, Anderson Ezeibe, had this to say today: "Our grievances also include the non-reconstitution of governing councils in federal polytechnics and many state-owned institutions leading to the disruption of governance and administrative processes in the institutions since May, 2020.

"This has also undermined the renegotiation of the union’s 2010 agreement with the government which was unilaterally suspended by the government for over two years now.”
