The chairman of Ikwo Local Government Area (LGA), Elder Stephen Orogwu, has chased 10,000 Fulani herdsmen out of Ikwo, Ebonyi this morning. The incident started last night but was serious this morning.

Yesterday, Elder Orogwu, placed a ban on open grazing in Ikwo and after he enforced the ban, he ordered policemen and soldiers to chase the Fulani herdsmen away. The armed enforcement agencies carried out the order.

According to reports, the Fulani herdsmen began to roam between Ikwo LGA and Abakaliki LGA at Ndiova Alike Ikwo. Elder Orogwu got the information this early morning and sent the DPO of Noyo Police Division and his team to chase the Fulani herdsmen.

He also deployed the help of Abakaliki LGA, Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Nwangele.
Last night, there was unrest in Ohatakwe Amegu Ikwo when uncountable cows and herdsmen reportedly paraded the villages.
