Man who allegedly beat his wife to death finally speaks

Mr. Anthony Elvis Ikpeama from Abia state, who was recently accused of beating his wife and storming the hospital to remove the oxygen from her at the ICU, has finally broken his silence.

In a long statement, currently trending in Nigeria, Mr. Anthony revealed how his wife died with autopsy results of that of his wife and his premature baby. Mr. Anthony and late Destiny Adaeze Ikpeama got married on the 3rd of June, 2017 (3 years plus).

After they got married, Mr. Anthony travelled to Cambodia to supervise his clothing business over there. He was away for 10 months. Unfortunately, he got locked out due to the Covid-19 lockdown at that time.

Finally, he arrived in Nigeria and his late wife was super excited to have him back. According to him, he says he made a mistake and got his wife pregnant for the third. They got blessed with two children, a boy and a girl. Late Mrs. Destiny had all her children via C-section and it got Anthony worried and emotional for getting his wife pregnant for the third time.

On December 20, 2020, Late Mrs. Destiny was diagnosed of Appendicitis, after experiencing severe pains in her stomach. While at the hospital, the doctor told Mr. Anthony that his wife needed an urgent operation, which he later disclosed to his mother-in-law. His mother-in-law, Mrs. John, refused the opinion that her daughter should be operated on because since she would still deliver through C-section, there wasn't any need for the operation.

According to Mr. Anthony, he says he had seek opinion from his mother-in-law's last sister's husband, Mr. Duke (who works with UBA). Mr. Duke told him to tell the hospital staff to give his wife something that would relief the pains.

On the 7th of April, 2021 (Wednesday), Mr. Anthony returned from work, played with his wife and they both watched a Korean film together. After watching Korean film together, they slept off at exactly 1:00am. At midmorning, his wife began to complain about her stomach.

She was later rushed to the hospital despite the curfew in Lagos - (The couple live in Ajah). This time, she was operated on by Dr. Wale (the doctor who helped in the delivery of their two children). She was rushed into the theatre for immediate surgery.

Her belly was opened and they found out that her uterus has ruptured. The placenta of their premature baby shifted and ruptured her uterus. According to Anthony, he says she witnessed everything with his eyes.

Mr. Anthony left to check his premature child but was told that she was having a difficulty in breathing and was advised to take the baby to Reddington hospital because the hospital has ventilators. Before everything, the baby had died. His wife suffered blood loss and eventually died.

Mr. Anthony also debunked domestic violence levelled on him by his wife's people, especially her brother, Bobmanuel John. According to him, he says he had never for once raised his hands on his wife.
