In the late hours of Friday, it was reported that a Beachcraft 350 carrying the COAS, Ibrahim Attahiru, had crashed. The Nigeria Air Force also confirmed the plane crash in a statement, which reads:
"An air crash involving a @NigAirForce aircraft occurred this evening near the Kaduna International Airport. The immediate cause of the crash is still being ascertained. More details to follow soon.

At the site of the plane crash, firefighters were seen as they were trying to put out the fire, but it seemed impossible. All effort wasn't enough.
