An eyewitness tells Kossyderrickent:

"The attack was meant for udala. They shoot him and bullets didn't penetrate. They used knife on him and pushed him inside his lexus jeep and burnt him alive, he struggled to come out of the car but couldn't, he ended up falling off by the car door. None of his flesh was recovered. Only his necklace and his wristwatch was found there showing he was the one. The assassins killed peter his driver, Godsent his TM, and Paul his security personnel from nsugbe."

"And another of his police man from kogi. Udala just returned from lagos yesterday, they traced him, they planned everything, there is nothing like they attacked any police station, that's just what they want to use to confuse people. Udala uke was burnt to ashes. Chai. Odogwu nwoke. A philanthropist. He is a giver. He doesn't deserve this."

"He wedded mmiri Doro edo his new wife last month and she is heavily pregnant right now. He is almost finishing his new house at 3.3, to be open soon. On January we attended their traditional marriage ceremony at umuoji. This life is vanity upon vanity. May your soul rest in peace and may your killers and the planners never go unpunished."

"I know all these cos he is very close to my husband. Infact he finished discussion with my husband at their terminal, before the 5 of them left and this happened. My husband has been crying since last night. He hasn't eaten. Because this man doesn't deserve this kind of death. Keep resting udala uke. Many loves you."

Another source or eyewitness says Godsent Eriobu wasn't burnt alive in the car, but was left to die on the ground. The source says: "Godsent (His manager) wasn't burnt. They shot him and those videoing him left him there to die rather than rushing him to the hospital.

After the death of Udala FC manager and secretary, Godsent Eriobu began to go viral, his sister, Chichi Eriobu, took to her Facebook to mourn him. According to Chichi, she says Late Godsent Eriobu was preparing to celebrate his birthday on July 27, 2021, before he got murdered.

She wrote: "Just on Saturday we were talking about your upcoming birthday on the 27th of July. We joked about the surprise I would pull for you.

"We joked about who gives more gift. And, I was even explaining why I haven't returned the funds you borrowed me in May. And then.
The Abatete killings of yesterday took you, my love.
You should have fought to stay. But I couldn't imagine the pains you must have suffered.

"The unknown gun men happened to you. You didn't deserve to die like that. They should have at least let you celebrate your next birthday.
We're broken into pieces at your news of your death. Nobody is strong for the other. Nobody. Everybody is looking at everybody in broken parts.
Dear Jesus, help us deal with this, please."
