(Video) Ideba Edu Ele: 23-year-old Nigerian lady who makes Garri through cassava farming after graduating with no job

Nigerian young girl, Ideba Edu Ele, from Abi in Cross River State, has gone viral after her interview with BBC Pidgin on July 11, 2021. According to the 23-year-old young graduate of Mass communications, she says she ventured into making garri (cassava flakes) due to lack of job. (Read More Here).

Ideba Edu Ele said after graduation and service, she hoped for a better job because she graduated with a 2.1 (the third highest and best graduating student of her set). Unfortunately, no good jobs came her way, despite having applied for jobs at many companies.

She said some companies didn't call her back, while some bosses wanted something else from her. In order not to stay idle or probably appear lazy, she went into processing of cassava into garri for commercialization.

Ideba Edu Ele says she isn't ashamed of her new work and she believes something great is coming her way. According to her, she says her father will be retiring soon, while her mother doesn't have enough money to help the family.

One wonder thing about her is that she uses two of her hands during turning and processing of cassava into Garri. Taking to her Facebook page, she shared the interview she had with BBC Pidgin.

She wrote on Instagram:

"I always wanted to own a clothing line in the future too.
I love fashion
I also enjoy volunteering and social work, currently working with BRCI to help vulnerable children and assist in counselling them too.
Any company that can invest in me would surely get their money worth.
Thank you and God bless.

"Feel free to share to your timeline, stories etc.
I want to say a very big thank you to @bbcnewspidgin for coming to cover my story. Words fail me.
I want to encourage everyone out there still job hunting not to give up, while still looking, start doing whatever you can to survive.
in this Country, if you fold your hands, hunger would kill you.
find something and engage yourself in.

"Please I have a lot of ideas to bring to life but finance is my major problem.
I am a creative with experience in the media.
I can act, and do Voice-over too.
I need items like Camera, tripod and money to bring some of my ideas to life.
If any firm want to partner with me to repackage my garri and sell to malls, I would really appreciate (I already registered it with CAC."
