The incident happened yesterday and was shared on social media by a young and educated lady who was present at the time the fish was caught by the fishermen.
In the trending video and photos, the dolphin was seen lying lifeless on the ground and was later moved onto a wooden surface at Oyorokoto Fishing Settlement in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The photos have gone viral and Nigerians are asking why such cruelty should be done on the fish.
Most Nigerians started asking if the residents in the area would eat the dolphin or would be used for something else.
Fishermen in said area are used to catching such big fishes as the community is located very close to the atlantic ocean. It was in this same community that a live elephant was recently seen walking around in the bush.
