The DA's Dr. Mpho Phalatse is now the new Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg. She won with 144 votes. Herman Mashaba was not nominated.
According to information, voting began for Mayor of the City of Johannesburg a few hours ago.
The candidate Mayors were: Mpho Moerane for the ANC and Mpho Phalatse for the DA. Taking to social media, City Of Johannesburg, announced on its official Twitter page that DA's Mpho Phalatse is now the newly elected Mayor of City of Johannesburg.
South Africans have rushed to social media to react as many are happy over her win, while some aren't happy for too many reasons.
