Man, Odion, dies after his wife, Becky, allegedly bathed him with acid in Edo

A middle-aged man, simply identified as Odion, has died after his wife, Becky, poured a substance suspected to be acid on him during a brawl in Benin City, Edo State. (Read More Here).

The unfortunate incident occurred on Sunday night, November 14, at their residence in St. Saviour road.

According to Standard Gazette, the couple who had been married for six years with one child were constantly having domestic squabbles until the latest incident.

The suspect, 29, who is currently at large, was said to have previously reported her husband to the police but the police played peacemaker by suing for peace. She also reported to family members, who were trying to settle the issue between them, before she allegedly att*cked him on Sunday.

The deceased who was rushed to the hospital was said to have given up the ghost at about 2 a.m on Monday.

Speaking on his death, the deceased’s older sister, Esohe Fidelis, said that the family had concluded a plan to resolve the financial issue between the couple before the incident.

“Becky threatened on Friday last week that she will cripple my brother, and now l can see that she has finally killed him. I was in the hospital where my brother was receiving treatment, and he suddenly died on Monday around 2 am. I want the police to please help find Becky, who has escaped, and she should be arrested and made to face the law,” she said.
