An application by the late King Goodwill Zwelithini's first wife, Queen Sibongile Dlamini-Zulu to make claim to 50% of his estate has been dismissed with costs

Queen Sibongile Dlamini's bid to have 50 percent of the late estate of the King Goodwill Zwelithini set aside for her has been dismissed with costs. (Read More Here).

Judge Isaac Madondo, while handing down his judgment on the Zulu royal family court case said there is no dispute about Queen Sibongile Dlamini's claim that he was married to the late King in civil rites.

The Queen also failed to ask the court to declare the other five customary marriages of the King unlawful. As such, the court cannot rule on something that was not before it.

The Judge noted that the Queen wants 50 percent of the estate of the late King but it is not clear from which part of the estate as the royal estate is divided into five categories. The issue of the estate can only be resolved by the executor of the estate or relevant structure.
