According to information, Marshal Abubakar's only crime was that he defended Sowore and also for suing the Nigeria police.

Sowore wrote:

"BREAKING: Nigeria Police Force has just arrested Marshal Abubakar a lawyer attached to Femi Falana Chambers in Abuja for defending me during my recent spat with the police and so called “Billionairë” Ned Nwoko. Marshal D F Abubakar was traced to his home and forcefully arrested because he was accused of defending me. They claimed that he embarrassed the @police by suing them and Ned Nwoko on my behalf.#WeCantContinueLikeThis.

"We have sued @Prince_NedNwoko and duely served him and @PoliceNG but the despicable hierarchy of the police that had made itself available for Ned Nwoko’s repressive criminal activities for a fee are hell bent on perdition. #FreeMarshalAbubakarNow @NigBarAssoc @OlumideAkpata.

"BREAKING: An Upper Area Court judge has remanded our lawyer, Marshal D F Abubakarin Kuje prison claiming that he needs to apply for bail in writing, some said @Prince_NedNwoko was heard busy dictating to @policeng officers and court officials what to do.

"@Prince_NedNwoko PA sharing money to court officials as an Upper Area Court judge illegally committed our lawyer to prison for defending me in court against the so called criminal Billionairë. It was a very sad day. @NigBarAssoc @olumideapata."
