Pope Francis Appoints Bishop Lucius Ugorji the Archbishop of Owerri

Bishop Lucius Ugorji has been appointed by the Holy Father, Pope Francis, as the Archbishop of Owerri.  (Read More Here).

Bishop Ugorji was, before his new appointment, the Catholic Bishop of Umuahia and the Apostolic Administrator of the Catholic Diocese of Ahiara.

The Holy Father has also accepted the resignation of His Grace Most Rev. Dr Anthony Obinna as the Archbishop of Owerri, at his attainment of the canonical age of retirement.

Bishop Ugorji will remain the Apostolic Administrator of Ahiara Diocese.
