Abanye Bayombona singer, Deborah Fraser, pleaded with Nathi Mthethwa for assistance before we she died

Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that gospel singer, Deborah Fraser, had once reached out to Nathi Mthethwa in 2020 for Covid-19 relief, but her request was kept pending. (Read More Here).

Dispatch Live reported in 2020: "Gospel star Deborah Fraser has appealed to arts and culture minister Nathi Mthethwa for assistance as the Covid-19 pandemic has severely impacted the livelihood of artists." 

“I personally have applied and never got any response and I am wondering why others got the relief money and others did not. The department needs to address this. 

“I work with a lot of artists because we live like a family in the gospel industry. But, the past two months have been hard for artists. If the situation is not changing artists are going to lose their houses and cars," She said. 

It was gathered that Deborah Fraser had passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022 after after battling with suspected diabetes. She was age 56.
