A DRINKING spree has ended in problems for a man of Rufunsa district after his pregnant wife was allegedly beaten by his friend in an attempt to stop her from disturbing them at a bar. 

The victim, Nellia Banda, who lost her six months old pregnancy after the assault, said last Monday her husband went to drink beer at a bar with his friend. 

“On the fateful night, I was phoning my husband but he was not picking up my calls. I panicked because it was getting late and he rarely stays out at awkward hours drinking and it was very cold. I gave him about 10 missed calls until his friend picked up the call. 

“My husband’s friend, Chris Zulu, was very annoyed when he picked up the call saying I was disturbing their drinking spree and that I should stop phoning my husband but instead wait for him patiently. 

I called again, his friend picked and said he will teach me a lesson,” she said.
