Despite dominating African football records the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has not acknowledged some of Chitalu’s records nor honoured him.
Nigerian legend Segun Odegbami wants CAF to put that right.
“Chitalu was a threat to any team in his time, Odegbami said. “His reputation preceded him everywhere on the continent.
He was one of the true greats of African football.” Odegbami believes that Chitalu’s legacy must be recognised.
“CAF can still do something about the injustice done to Chitalu and Zambia by recognising and posthumously decorating him with some kind of legendary status award and acknowledging his goal-scoring records.
