Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that A U.K-based Nigerian man, Oladeji Adeyemi Omishore, 41, has died after he jumped off a bridge into River Thames.

According to reports, the incident happened last Saturday when metropolitan police officers were called to reports of a man armed with a screwdriver shouting on Chelsea Bridge Road.

The officers tapered him three times. In a footage trending on social media, a police officer can be seen using a taser on him before he ran to the edge of the bridge and jumped over the railing into the river.

Oladeji struggled to battle the tide and breathe but was pulled to safety by the RNLI before being taken to a hospital, where he later died. According to Mail Online, the deceased had a history of mental health problems. 

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) confirmed the man died in hospital and an independent inquiry had begun. IOPC director Steve Noonan said: "Our sympathies are with the family of the man who died and everyone else affected. We have already met with the man’s family to explain our role and we will keep them regularly updated as our inquiries progress.”
