Statement of Quezon City, Mayor Joy Belmonte, on the shooting incident in Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) Released

Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Statement of Mayor Joy Belmonte on the shooting incident in Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) has been released. (Read More Here).

The statement of the reads:

"We strongly denounce the shooting incident at the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) that occurred Sunday afternoon. This kind of incident has no place in our society and must be condemned to the highest level. 

"We request the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) to continue investigating this incident and ensure that swift justice be attained by the victims and their families. 

"We also extend our sincerest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims who lost their lives in the incident. 

"Based on information we have received, the following are the victims: former mayor Rose Furigay, 1 Ateneo campus security guard and 1 unidentified male, likely the personal security of the mayor. The suspect, a certain Chao Tiao Yumul is now in the custody of the police.

"QCPD Chief General Remus Medina for his part issued this statement: 
               
“Nagpahayag kami ng taos-pusong pakikidalamhati sa mga biktima lalo na sa kanilang pamilya. Mariin po naming kinokondena ang insidente dahil hindi namin kinukunsinti ang anumang karahasan at kawalang-katarungan lalo na dito sa Lungsod Quezon. Sisiguraduhin namin ang agarang solusyon upang mabigyan ng hustisya ang mga biktima."

"The Quezon City government, together with departments, task forces and agencies under its Law and Order Cluster, and the QCPD will work together to further strengthen security and other measures to ensure no untoward incident will occur during the State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday and strictly enforce the gun ban that has been in place since Friday (July 22)."
