ACCIDENT VIDEO: Three adults and an infant killed in a car crash/explosion at La Brea Ave & Slauson Ave in Windsor Hills, Los Angeles

Three adults and an infant killed in a crash/explosion at La Brea Ave & Slauson Ave. in Windsor Hills, #LosAngeles. A witness says it started when the driver of a Mercedes— traveling 100 MPH, caused a collision involving at least 5 vehicles. One of the victims was pregnant.

Five people were killed and nine others were injured in a violent, fiery crash involving multiple vehicles Thursday in Windsor Hills, officials say.

The crash was caused by a Mercedes coupe that was speeding south on La Brea Avenue and ran a red light, slamming into several cars at Slauson Avenue around 1:30 p.m., according to the CHP.

According to the CHP, the driver of a gray Mercedes ran a red light on La Brea Avenue, at Slauson, and crashed into about a half-dozen other cars.

The Mercedes and another vehicle then burst into flames.

Debra Jackson, one of the victims of the crash, told CBSLA what she saw.

"All of a sudden, I heard a big explosion, but as I was trying to turn around, the flames just went over everybody," Jackson said. "The flames went over my whole car and they told me to jump out of my car,,,because I was trying to get out of my car, to go to the gas pump. And I jumped out of my car and just left my car sitting right there."

"I was about to pump gas and all of a sudden, I hear all of the noises from all of the collisions, and then the fire explosion and I saw things, metal and things flying in the air. So, I just covered myself behind the pump," she told CBSLA.

I was in the silver car behind the white truck waiting to turn left from NB La Brea. It happened so fast we didn’t even realize there was a collision. It just looked like a car spontaneously exploded in our faces. Terrifying and heartbreaking.
