HISTORY MAKING IGBO LADY: Abia Born Chioma Onyenkwere, makes history, first Nigerian Woman to win Commonwealth games gold

She is Chioma Onyenkwere

Born to Chima & Scholar Onyekwere from Umuahia Abia State Nigeria with triplet siblings Chidinma and Chima and older siblings Emeka and Kay. Onyekwere grew up in Nigeria and moved to Fairfax, Virginia in 2002 with her family. She graduated from the A. James Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland in Winter 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.

She is the reigning African Games Champions.

Also reigning African Champion.

Yesterday, she became the first Nigeria Woman to win Commonwealth games gold in Discus throw.

 Becoming the second Nigerian after Adekoju to win Commonwealth games silverware in Discus throw.
