Shooting: 29-year-old, Michael Walton, had shot himself in the leg due to mishandling a firearm; not only did the round strike him, but 3 others after it ricocheted in Walmart Lovejoy, Georgia

Imagine going to to Walmart to pick up a few things only to be accidentally struck by a bullet. That was the case for a few individuals in Lovejoy, Georgia.

Sunday Lovejoy police responded to a call of “persons shot”. Once they arrived they assessed the situation and realized a 29-year-old Michael Walton had shot himself in the leg due to mishandling a firearm. Not only did the round strike him, but 3 others after it ricocheted. 

According to 11 Alive and authorities, all 4 people were treated for non-life threatening injuries. 

On scene the officers did an investigation determining the cause to be that Walton had his weapon loaded but not properly holstered. He’s now facing reckless conduct charges. Is that enough?
