LGBTQIA: Ugandan government placed a ban on the renowned Nyege Nyege Festival, a section of legislatures claiming the famous event is a breeding ground for sexual immorality in the country

On Tuesday afternoon, the Ugandan government placed a ban on the renowned Nyege Nyege Festival, a section of legislatures claiming the famous event is a breeding ground for sexual immorality in the country. (Read More Here).

Nyege Nyege organizers however said the event is purely built on love, resilience, and passion for music, and not immorality as perceived by the name. (Read More Here).

According to the Uganda's Tourism Minister Martin Mugarra, over 8,000 foreign tourists have already paid for their tickets ahead of the event.

Developing updates reveal that the event has been given a green light to go on as planned, from 15th - 18th September 2022 on the banks of the Nile in Jinja District. (Read More Here).

However, organizers of the event have been warned against indecency and asked to deploy heavy security who will have to do what they have to do to maintain order. (Read More Here).
