VIDEO: EVACUATION Centers listed as Mosquito and Fairview fires threaten in North California

Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that EVACUATION Centres listed as Mosquito and Fairview fires threaten in North California.

Evacuation Centers:

Bell Road Baptist Church (77 Bell Road in Auburn)
Foresthill Veterans Memorial Hall (24601 Harrison St, Foresthill)
Animals can be taken to Placer County Animal Services Center (11232 B Avenue in Auburn).

According to Cal Fire, there have been multiple data sources for the fire's perimeter. Due to smoky conditions, accurate measurement has been difficult. The currently verified acreage is at least 23,000 acres.

Firefighters are challenged by steep terrain, dense brush, and high temperatures.

Smoke from the fire is also spreading into the valley, causing a drop in air quality.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Oxbow Reservoir is located 69 miles northeast of Sacramento, just five miles east of Foresthill in the Tahoe National Forest. It's at the top of the middle fork of the American River, just upstream from the famous whitewater rapids called the "tunnel chute."

Reactions below:

Park: Every day I think this plume from the #MosquitoFire can't possibly get any bigger, and then it does. So grateful for the firefighters working around the clock to try to protect our town #Foresthill.

Moneoa: The fire is going nuclear right now. Extreme fire behavior driving impressive plume growth. Looks like a huge thunderstorm or volcano eruption. Unreal. I have no words #Mosquitofire #cawx #firewx.

Jeffrey: The smoke plume from the Mosquito fire in El Dorado County can be seen from Concord, Calif. #MosquitoFire #bayarea.

Michael: The Mosquito Fire. Structures lost, plume dominated fire. Unbelievable fire behavior. #MosquitoFire #wildfire #California.

Johnny: 7:30 am and I have grown to HATE the Orange/Red sun. Always a sign of something bad. #MosquitoFire.
