31-year-old Ohio softball coach, Ra-Nae Ashley Rison, faces years in prison after she had sex with a 17-Year-old student 8 times and then begged him not to report her

Ashley Rison, a 31-year-old former softball coach, and teacher’s aide, allegedly had sex with a 17-year-old student while she worked at New Miami High School in Ohio. (Read More Here).

“Ashley Ra-Nae Rison is no longer employed by the New Miami Local School Board. Effective May 3, 2021, Ms. Rison resigned from her position as Paraprofessional and Coach. New Miami Local Schools has no further comment at this time,” Superintendent Rhonda Parker told a local news outlet.

It is unknown whether the victim or a different eyewitness provided the authorities with evidence against Rison.

Prosecutors said they have multiple recordings of Rison begging the child not to report her to the authorities.

“In addition to what the child tells us, we do have recordings between Ms. Rison and the child of where Ms. Rison makes multiple incriminating statements in asking, begging the child not to report her to the authorities,” Assistant Prosecutor Lindsay Sheehan said.

“It was discovered she was in a car with the [victim] and observed, and it went from there,” Butler County Prosecutor Mike Gmoser said.

“Every prosecutor that I have ever known, and in every state, I have ever dealt with, takes cases involving teachers and students very seriously with respect to sexual conduct and contact,” Gmoser added. “We are dealing with impressionable young minds, and along comes an adult who takes advantage of them.

The indictment states that Rison engaged in sexual conduct with the minor eight different times in April 2021. Prosecutors stated that there was only one victim in the case and the child’s gender was not specified.

The alleged crimes were reported to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office on May 3, 2021, and Rison quit her job at the school that same day. She coached girls’ softball and basketball and began working for the school district in 2015.

Prosecutors say that Rison is not being charged with “rape by force,” and it is believed that she engaged in criminal activity with only one victim.

“In addition to what the child tells us, we do have recordings between Ms. Rison and the child of where Ms. Rison makes multiple incriminating statements in asking, begging the child not to report her to the authorities,” Butler County, Ohio Assistant Prosecutor Lindsay Sheehan previously stated in court.

Rison is due back in court on November 16 for sentencing. Authorities obtained footage of her allegedly having sex with a 17-year-old student in the back seat of a car eight times in April 2021. She is currently waiting for the final trial on November 16, set by Judge Dan Haughey, in which she could be registered as a sex offender.

Rison was given a GPS tracker after paying 10 per cent of her $10,000 bail.

The 31-year-old worked at the New Miami school as a softball and basketball coach from August 2015.

Assistant Prosecutor Lindsay Sheehan also stated: 'In addition to what the child tells us, we do have recordings between Ms. Rison and the child of where Ms. Rison makes multiple incriminating statements in asking, begging the child not to report her to the authorities.'

She quit her job on May 3, 2021, the day the crimes arrived at the Butler County Sheriff's Office.

It is unclear whether the alleged victim gave authorities the footage of himself and Rison, or if a separate eyewitness saw them and recorded it.

Prosecutors also blamed her for tampering with evidence and giving alcohol to an underage person but these were later dropped.

Superintendent Rhonda Parker said: 'Ashley Ra-Nae Rison is no longer employed by the New Miami Local School Board.

'Effective 3rd May, 2021, Ms. Rison resigned from her position as Paraprofessional and Coach.

'New Miami Local Schools has no further comment at this time.'
