ANTI-SEMITIC: Donald Trump threatens American Jews to ‘get their act together’ on his Truth Social app

Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Trump has threatened American Jews to ‘get their act together’. (Read More Here).

Donald Trump berated American Jews on social media Sunday morning, telling them to “get their act together” and offer him more gratitude for his policy toward Israel.

Trump went on to claim that he was so popular in Israel he could “easily” be prime minister, and instructed American Jews to “get their act together and appreciate what they have in Israel – Before it is too late!”

Trump’s remarks come at the end of a busy week for MAGA figures and in anti-Semitism. In an interview released this weekend, Kanye West disparaged “Jewish Zionists.” Trump has thus far been quiet on West, but other pro-Trump voices — including Ben Shapiro and Elon Musk— have equivocated in their condemnation, unwilling to fully go after a pro-Trump celebrity.

Former president Trump has disparaged American Jews for a perceived lack of devotion to him on a number of occasions. In a 2021 interview with Israeli journalist Barak Ravid, Trump complained that “the evangelical Christians love Israel more than the Jews in this country. It used to be that Israel had absolute power over Congress. And today I think it’s the exact opposite. And I think Obama and Biden did that.”

As president, Jewish advocacy organizations accused Trump of using anti-Semitic stereotypes in his statements about Jewish voters, including describing them as being motivated by financial gain and accusing Jews who voted democrat of showing “great disloyalty to Israel.

During his presidency Trump set aside decades or foreing policy precedent and made major concessions to the Israeli government, including recognizing Jerusalem as its capital, declaring settlements do not violate international law, and granting Israel sovereignty over the Golan heights.

The former president — who moved the US embassy to Jerusalem, recognized Israeli sovereignty in the Golan Heights and brokered the Abraham Accords between Israel and regional states — said that in Israel it was “a different story” and that there he enjoyed “the highest approval rate in the world,” going as far as saying he “could easily be PM.”

Trump urged Jews in the US to “get their act together and appreciate what they have in Israel – Before it is too late!” He did not elaborate.

Trump has frequently castigated US Jews for their perceived lack of gratitude and support and often conflated Israeli interests with those of American Jews.

A poll conducted by the Israel Democracy Institute in November 2020 found that 70 percent of Jewish Israelis considered a victory for Trump over Joe Biden in the US presidential election to be preferable for Israeli interests.

While many US Jews are generally supportive of Israel, they have consistently rejected accusations of dual loyalty toward the Jewish state, typically seen as an antisemitic canard.

“American Jews got ‘their act together’ in 2020, when 77% supported Biden. This won’t change because Jews view Trump & #MAGA candidates as extremist-aligned threats to our security, democracy & values, as epitomized by this antisemitic screed,” tweeted Halie Soifer, head of the Jewish Democratic Council of America. “This has nothing to do with Israel.”

“We don’t need the former president, who curries favor with extremists and antisemites, to lecture us about the US-Israel relationship. It is not about a quid-pro-quo; it rests on shared values and security interests. This ‘Jewsplaining’ is insulting and disgusting,” he said.

In an interview in December, Trump accused American Jews of not loving Israel enough and of being ungrateful for all he had done for Israel.

“There are people in this country that are Jewish, no longer love Israel. I’ll tell you, the evangelical Christians love Israel more than Jews in this country,” he said at the time.

Despite Trump himself being banned from Twitter since January 2021, screenshots of his Truth Social post began circulating widely on the social media site, with many people voicing concerns over what they deemed to be an overt expression of antisemitism.

"You really don't need to read between the lines much on this one," wrote American political journalist Mattew Yglesias, sharing a screenshot of the post. "Trump has no concept of American Jews as a community that lives and prospers here with an identity and interests that are distinct from the concerns of the State of Israel."

In December 2021, clips from an old interview he held with Israeli journalist Barak Ravid were leaked online, in which he was heard saying that: “There are people in this country that are Jewish that no longer love Israel. The Evangelical Christians love Israel more than the Jews in this country."

Reactions below:

Francis: Someone please tell Trump that American Jews don’t support him because he’s a bigoted, anti-Semitic, racist, homophobic, misogynistic, corrupt, lying, fascist, traitorous asshole.

Patrick: Dear Donald Trump:
I could explain that American Jews are not Israeli. That your conflation is harmful. That your rhetoric led to a rise in antisemitism.
But you know that and don't care. So instead I'll just say this:
Go fuck yourself.
Sincerely,
An American Jew.

Manuel: pro tip: if you literally called Nazis 'very fine people,' kindly sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up and stop whining about American Jews, whatever the fuck that even means. go cheat at golf or whatever for fuck's sake and leave us alone.

John's: A lot of antisemitism to unpack here. But one thing is clear; Trump has no problem threatening American Jews.
“US Jews have to get their act together..before it’s too late.”
