Bachelor in Paradise's Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt's Relationship Timeline
“We decided to get married this morning at the New York Courthouse,” the newlyweds announced via YouTube on Thursday, October 27.
The twosome revealed that they will have a full wedding ceremony “next year around September because who doesn’t want to get married twice!”
The couple, who met on season 7 of Bachelor in Paradise in summer 2021, shared a video with their fans of the courthouse nuptials. In the clip, Pitt, 25, couldn’t stop giggling as she held onto Amabile’s hands while an officiant asked them to exchange vows.
The Canada native wore black, leather pants and boots with a white, long-sleeved shirt as she said “I do.” The Bachelorette alum, 36, donned black pants, white sneakers and a navy sweater as he agreed to marry Pitt. The lovebirds proceeded to kiss and embrace after they were declared legally married.
The ABC personalities shared that fellow Bachelor Nation star Natasha Parker was their witness when they became man and wife. “[She is] someone that has seen our relationship from the very beginning,” they continued.
Pitt and Amabile concluded: “We can’t wait to celebrate with all of our family and friends next year at our wedding, because who doesn’t want to marry the love of their life twice?”
Shortly after announcing their impromptu wedding, the couple received an outpouring of love from the Bachelor and Bachelorette family.

“Congrats you two!!!! (For the record I’m ALL about getting married 2x)❤️❤️❤️,” Bachelor host Jesse Palmer commented on the duo’s social media reveal.
Tia Booth responded, writing, “A whole ass husband and wifey!!!!” while Raven Gates replied, “What!!!!! 😍😍 omg congrats to you both ❤️❤️❤️.”
The couple got engaged on season 7 of Bachelor in Paradise. After the show wrapped, Amabile and Pitt maintained a long-distance relationship for months before moving in together in New York City in March 2022. In August 2022, they celebrated another relationship milestone: their engagement party in Pitt's hometown of Toronto.
"I think my parents originally brought the idea to us for an engagement party, just because we obviously had an unconventional engagement," Pitt told PEOPLE at the time. "We got engaged and it was a secret for a period of time. So this was a nice idea to bring some of our family and close friends together to celebrate a whole year later."
Amabile, 36, explained that "it all happened so fast, but now we're a year down the road and we've realized our parents never even met in person yet. This was a good way for our parents to meet and our close friends to meet each other's close friends."
"We're happy that it's finally happening," Pitt added, "even though there was a bit of a delay."
