The arrest of five gunmen who had robbed a shop in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal, was made possible by a tip to a police constable who was not on duty. 

On Friday afternoon, the group had set out to steal Madadeni Hardware King Section 6.

An alleged carjacker died after being assaulted by community members in Mpumalanga on Wednesday. It is alleged that three suspects who were driving in a Nissan NP 200. 

They allegedly faked the accident in order to gain her attention and be in a position to hijack her.
