Japanese prosecutors have decided to indict the man, Tetsuya Yamagami, suspected of shooting former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Japanese media reported on Saturday

Japanese prosecutors have decided to indict the man suspected of shooting former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Japanese media reported on Saturday. 

Abe was killed with a handmade gun during an election campaign in July. 

The suspect, Tetsuya Yamagami, an unemployed 42-year-old, has undergone a psychiatric examination which will end on January 10.

The prosecutors will likely indict him by January 13, the Kyodo News agency reported.
