Angelo Cysman, a 40-year-old Eskom plant operator at the Ankerlig power station in Atlantis, who is accused of stealing diesel worth R500,000 is scheduled to appear in court again on 24 February. 

Cysman allegedly allowed a vehicle to collect stolen diesel from the site.

In another news, Tshwane's former chief financial officer, Umar Banda to face criminal charges for alleged financial malfeasance. Municipal officials and councillors implicated in the adverse audit report for illegally benefiting from the SCM processes are also likely to face action.

It is alleged that some goods and services of a transaction over R200  000 were procured without inviting competitive bids, as required by SCM Regulation 19(a). Allegations of fraud and extortion which exceeded R100  000 were not reported to the SAPS as required by section 34(1)
