The royal's pregnancy comes nearly two years after she and Jack welcomed their son in February 2021. Buckingham Palace confirmed the news at the time, sharing that "Her Royal Highness and child are both doing well" in a statement. The duo shared a more personal announcement shortly after with a photo of their newborn's tiny hand.
The royal couple took to social media to personally reveal the exciting news of their growing family. Princess Eugenie posted a sweet photo of their son August kissing and hugging her stomach on her own Instagram account. Jack snapped the intimate shot of the pair at sunset set against a scenic, nature-filled backdrop.In just a number of months, there will be a new addition to the royal family! Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank announced that they are expecting their second child, Entertainment Tonight reports. Buckingham Palace also confirmed the news in a statement: "The family are delighted and August is very much looking forward to being a big brother."
In the photograph, taken by Mr Brooksbank, Eugenie, dressed in a woolly hat, beams as August, in a burgundy winter hat, matching trousers and wellies, embraces her and kisses her bump, as they stand next to a fence in a leaf-strewn field.
Eugenie wrote: "We’re so excited to share that there will be a new addition to our family this summer.” August has filled his parents' lives with joy—and, luckily, they've shared some of this happiness with their fans by posting about his meaningful milestones. In April 2022, the little one took his very first steps in a field of daffodils as he made his way to his mom (with his dad guiding him forward!). Here's hoping that they continue to give updates about their newest addition—including whether they're expecting a boy or a girl.
It'll be Prince Andrew's and the Duchess of York's third grandchild. As well as August, they are also grandparents to Princess Beatrice's young daughter Sienna, who was born in September 2021.
He made an appearance at the Platinum Jubilee pageant celebrations last year wearing a union flag jumper as Eugenie bounced him up and down on her knee as they sat in the royal box.
He was christened alongside Mike and Zara Tindall’s son Lucas Philip in a rare royal double christening at Windsor.
The occasion marked the first time in modern history there has been a double royal christening in the UK - and saw the late Queen make an appearance after a month 'resting' on doctor's orders.
In Denmark, the Crown Prince’s twins: Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, were christened together in 2011.
While paying tribute to the late Queen, Eugenie poignantly wrote about her hopes that her son would inherit some of her talents.
She wrote: "I think of my grannie and what she has stood for, for so many people and for our family, during these 70 years. I’d love Augie to have her patience, her calmness and her kindness, while always being able to laugh at himself and keep a twinkle in his eye”.
