Putrajaya will return RM21.7 million allegedly linked to 1MDB, which was forfeited from 11 individuals, business entities and political parties

Putrajaya will return RM21.7 million allegedly linked to 1MDB, which was forfeited from 11 individuals, business entities and political parties.

This comes after the DPP withdrew its appeal on the matter at the Court of Appeal. A notice of discontinuance was filed on Jan 27.

Among the 11 respondents include Jakel Trading (RM 10.7mil), Mediaedge CIA (RM4.6mil) and AGA Touch (RM3mil).

The Court of Appeal also urged the prosecution to be consistent in its other three appeals.

"Since you have filed an appeal withdrawal in 11 cases, you should do the same in the other three cases," noted judge Kamaludin Md Said.

In 2019, the MACC filed civil forfeiture applications against 41 individuals and entities to recover RM270 million of alleged 1MDB funds.
