It is alleged that the officers committed a house robbery in Boksburg and fled to Soweto, JMPD officers received information that the suspect’s vehicle is a Blue VW polo heading towards Soweto. Whilst on patrol, JMPD officers spotted the vehicle in Dobsonville and managed to pull over the vehicle.
Inside the vehicle, JMPD officers found 2 bravo males who presented themselves as police officers, a Constable from Dobsonville SAPS and a Warrant Officer from Protea Glen District office in their possession, JMPD officers found 2 X Z88 service pistols.
IPID was called to the scene. On arrival, IPID officers started searching the officers and found money inside their pockets.
IPID officers searched the blue VW Polo and found mining equipment, electrical grinder, 20 liter of mercury, 2 X small gold nuggets, and R10,600 in cash insidethe vehicle. Both officers were placed under arrest and detained at Roodepoort SAPS.
