‘Euphoria’ star, Chloe Cherry, has been charged for stealing $28 blouse from a local store

Euphoria” star Chloe Cherry has reportedly been charged with retail theft after allegedly stealing a $28 blouse from a store in her hometown of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

According to documents obtained by Lancaster Online, a Building Character shopping mall employee showed authorities footage of the former porn star — whose real name is Elise Jones — going into a dressing room with a Moda International blouse on Dec. 27.

According to the complaint, the model paid for other items using a credit card but did not purchase the blouse. Police subsequently got involved, and Cherry reportedly admitted to taking the blouse before returning it to the officer.

Cherry was then charged with misdemeanor retail theft in January. Police said that the employee informed them that Cherry had used a credit card to pay for separate garments, according to court docs, and that Cherry told officers she had taken the item and gave it back to them.

The owner of Building Character Marty Hulse told the outlet that the blouse had been taken from the retailer Jenny & the Clowder, which is upstairs from most of the vendors.

Authorities said that Cherry has a prior retail theft conviction on her record dating back to April of 2015, the outlet reported.

A rep for Cherry, who plays the role of Faye on the popular HBO series, told TMZ that 'in December, there was confusion over a blouse that wasn't properly charged to my client's credit card.

'In no way did she "admit" to taking the blouse, since that was not the case. This story seems to be more about a local store trading on a celebrity's name more than anything else.'

Cherry is slated to appear in court in Lancaster, Pennsylvania for a preliminary hearing in the case March 1. The alleged theft reportedly took place at the Building Character shopping center, where a witness told TMZ that she took a $28 blouse into a dressing room before leaving without paying, despite paying for other items with a credit card.

When police got involved, the witness said Cherry admitted she took the blouse and returned it to the officer, but the performer's rep denied that claim to TMZ, saying: "In no way did she 'admit' to taking the blouse, since that was not the case. This story seems to be more about a local store trading on a celebrity's name more than anything else."

Hulse told the outlet that the retailer that many time shoplifters are caught by the evidence they leave behind.

'Most times, when we find people who are shoplifting, we don't find them in the act,' Hulse told the outlet. 'They'll take the tag off of it and throw it somewhere. Then we see the tag, and we can find them on the camera and where it came from, and that's exactly what happened.

'I know it sound piddly, but when it comes down to it, we're all small businesses - you're stealing from your neighbors.'

The complex's general manager Joel Henry told the outlet that with a surveillance system that was updated in recent years, around one or two shoplifters have been caught each month.

Hulse and Henry told the outlet that they were not aware that Cherry was an actress on an HBO show until her mother told police about it.
