The married father-of-three player is said to be the man in the clip which has sparked a probe by his club, Castleford Tigers.
His wife Lauren today insisted: 'Can I make this VERY clear that this is NOT me!!!!!! We have three children one of whom is almost 15 and she doesn't need to see things like this all over social media!'
The club said that it has launched an investigation into the video and was making no further statement.
The interest in the shocking clip has even been noted as far away as Australia, The Sun reports.
A statement from the club read: 'Castleford Tigers are aware of a video involving a player that circulated on social media.
'This issue is currently being dealt with internally and the club will make no further comment at this time.'
The furore has broken out shortly before the 2023 Super League, which starts on Thursday.

The 33-year-old has apologised after footage of him with the woman in the alleyway emerged on social media, but his heartbroken wife has so far refused to talk to him.
The Castleford Tigers player, who said he was 'incredibly remorseful', was caught on video at the weekend, just days before the start of the new season, prompting his club to issue him with a significant fine.
And it has now emerged that the woman in the video is reportedly the wife of one of Westerman's friends, according to The Sun.
Lauren Westerman, who married the back rower in 2014 and has three children with him, told MailOnline she hadn't spoken to her husband and was focusing on protecting their children.
Speaking last night Mrs Westerman said she was looking after her children on her own, and added: 'There's nothing I want to say to be honest. I don't think anything I say is going to help.'
The Sun reports her husband, who has two caps for England, has been kicked out of their family home.
Castleford Tigers said the player is 'incredibly remorseful for his actions'.
Making a statement through the club, Westerman said: 'Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to wholeheartedly apologise to my family and friends for my actions.
'I'd also like to apologise to the supporters, sponsors, staff and directors of Castleford Tigers as well as my teammates.
'I'd like to extend this apology to the game of rugby league, and I have realised that I need to work on my decision-making around alcohol.'
