Man called out for assaulting his late brother’s wife, Glory Smart, with a machete over catfish

Man called out for assaulting his late brother’s wife with a machete over catfish

A widow identified as Glory Smart, has been assaulted with a machete by her brother-in-law, Chisom.

It was gathered that the ¥gly incident happened on Sunday, February 19, at her residence, along Osisioma road, Aba, Abia state. A family source reports that the victim who lost her husband in 2017, was be@ten to a pulp after she went to her late husband’s pond to catch a catfish.

“After her husband di£d in 2017, they had a family meeting and agreed that Chisom should be running the fishery and packaging business. He was told to pay his late brother’s children’s school fees and give them N15K as weekly feeding money. Glory complained that he wasn’t consistent with the feeding money and nothing was done about it.

In 2018, when she reported to the elders of the family, they assured her that Chisom would account for how he was spending money from the catfish business which never happened. So, on Sunday, she went to catch a catfish from one of the fifteen ponds in the compound since her brother-in-law only gave her N12K for feeding since the beginning of the year.

Chisom accosted her and an argument ensued. She explained that she needed the catfish to be able to prepare food for her and the two kids. The information infuriated him and he wanted to seize the fish from her. Then, he proceeded to use a m@ch£te to be@t her in front of her kids - video evidence is available. It would interest you to know that he has built his own house, and opened a N40m business for his own wife, through his late brother’s business,” the family source said.
