The Michoacán State Attorney General's Office obtained a 50-year prison sentence against Diego Urik, material and intellectual murderer of the young Jessica González Villaseñor , a crime he committed on September 21, 2020.
The hearing to individualize the sentence took place this Wednesday in a room of the Judiciary, where the 21-year-old man heard the decision of Judge Ariel Montoya Romero , who said he had found sufficient elements to give the maximum sentence contemplated by the Penal Code of Michoacán in its article 120.
For the judge, there was fraud, viciousness, cruelty and zero repentance in this crime committed in a wooded area of Morelia, where the young teacher was found with 31 blows and signs of rape.
Four days after his disappearance, the body was found among the trees near a luxurious subdivision where Diego Urik lived, who fled to the state of Jalisco but was arrested a few days later.
Since then, a long process began that included dozens of hearings, the presentation of more than 100 pieces of evidence and many witnesses, including Urik's former friends, who testified against him.
It was also determined that the defendant must pay one million 246 thousand pesos for financial compensation for the damage, calculated based on the salary that Jessica González had been assigned as a teacher .
