He has been identified as Cashwayne Nevers of Inverness District in the parish.
Police report that around 1:30 am, Nevers was found by residents on the roadway with his head bashed in.
According to the lawmen, Cashwayne was at a wake dancing, when his father came and took him from the event and headed home.
Shortly after, citizens contacted the police after finding Cashwayne's body at his gate.
The citizens then went in search of his father, who they accused of committing the act.
He was later handed over to the Alexandria police. Reports are that the teenager and his father, Festus Nevers otherwise called “Casha”, had attended a wake in the community earlier and left the event together.
Residents of the community located the father of the deceased and he was later taken into custody.
The Browns Town Police could not give any further information on the matter.
Investigations are ongoing.
