“And by the way, who am I to go down to the level of Junior Khanye?" - Arthur Zwane takes shot at Junior Khanye

Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Arthur Zwane has thrown a shade at Junior Khanye.

Junior Khanye: "Lengwenya uArthur ayikho mnandi."

Zwane : “Critics are part of the game; that is his opinion. I respect his opinion as a former player.

“And by the way, who am I to go down to the level of Junior Khanye? You understand what I’m saying?"

Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has taken a swipe at outspoken football commentator Junior Khanye, who has consistently been critical of how Amakhosi have been playing.

Khanye's controversial and often curious observations on football can attract attention, particularly on social media. His critics respond that he did not play long at Chiefs, and question his stature as a commentator given a troubled playing career in which he earned one cap for Bafana Bafana.

“We have played nearly all the games this season without any consistent line-up. I would have liked to have had a stable first XI to say, 'This is our team' — and we build on it and make sure the identity is there.

“Unfortunately some players have been missing because of injuries and unforeseen circumstances, but it is part and parcel of the game and we can’t complain.”

Third-placed Chiefs continue their quest to push for second position in the DStv Premiership and are meeting Maritzburg United at Harry Gwala Stadium on Sunday night (8pm).
