He wrote on Facebook: "For your outstanding service to the people of Abia, I hereby request for this Prado to be delivered to Mrs Nnenna Nnennaya Oti immediately it arrives Nigeria next month.
Thank you for your service in Abia."

The selection process began in December 2020, as advertised in the Daily Sun and Guardian Newspaper.

By the end of the selection process, Prof Nnenna N. Oti scored the highest mark of 75.5 ahead of her closest opponent, Prof. Ikechukwu Dozie, who scored 69.7.

Also, INEC’s Returning Officer in the state, Prof Nnenna Nnannaya-Oti said she will do the right of the people and protect democratic values.

“I shall stand squarely and unapologetically on these principles. The people’s votes and mandate shall stand.

“The pastor and the mother in me will not permit me to do anything that will adversely affect the future of our children,” said Nnannaya-Oti, who is the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri.

Alex Otti of the Labour Party (LP), Ikechi Emenike of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Okey Ahiwe of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Enyinnaya Nwafor of the Young Peoples Party (YPP) are top contenders in the race to succeed the incumbent governor and PDP G5 member, Okezie Ikpeazu, whose two terms of eight years end on May 29, 2023.

The returning officer later declared Otti as the winner of the election. Otti trounced his opponents like Okey Ahiwe of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Enyinnaya Nwafor of the Young Peoples Party (YPP).

Prof. Nnenna Oti has been appointed the 8th Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO). This was revealed in a press briefing by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. John Offem, which was made available to Boldscholar on Tuesday by the Director of Press, Ben Bem Goong.
