Joe Budden doubles down on calling Michael B. Jordan “Corny” after interview with former school mate, Lore’l

Joe Budden doubles down on calling Michael B. Jordan “Corny”.

“We use to tease him because his name was Michael Jordan… he was no Michael Jordan! We teased him for bringing his headshots to school.. Now look at him”.

Michael B. Jordan didn’t hesitate to put a red carpet reporter on blast.

During a recent premiere event for Creed III, the actor/director took some time to speak with Morning Hustle host Lore’l. The interviewer immediately congratulated Jordan on the new film and revealed they were classmates in New Jersey.

“We go way back, all the way back to Chad Science [Academy] in Newark,” she said.

“Oh yeah, I was the corny kid, right?” Jordan responded, referring to remarks on a podcast. Lore’l laughed off the Jordan’s comment and insisted she was “misquoted”; however, the actor pushed back and said he directly heard the reporter call him “corny.”

“No you did not hear me say that! I said we used to make fun of the name,” she continued, before changing the subject. “But yeah, he is obviously killing things out here.”

Lore’l went on to ask Jordan about his Creed III experience as well as his rumored project with Will Smith. She then closed the interview by telling Jordan, “Well, you’re not corny anymore.”

Having portrayed Creed since 2015, the budding director recently shared that he was able to pour a lot of his personal life lessons into the role. “It’s the first character I actually had a chance to play three times, so where I was personally with my life, you know, in acting, you try to bring your personal life to the role as much as you can, you try to make it relatable,” he said on “Good Morning America” on Feb. 21. He added, “For me on this one, I went through some transitional moments in my life, and I tried to pour that into the character, into the Creed family as much as I could.”

Viewers made note of the awkward exchange and applauded Jordan for his success, with one writing: "You called him corny. Now you gotta call him actor, director, superstar, Hollywood mogul. Living legend. He took that s**t personally."

Another commented: "You called him corny, but you're the one who interviewing him not the other way around. I'm glad MBJ got the last laugh."

While another fellow Jordan fan wrote: "Imagine the reason he’s been working out so hard for the past 10 years is because he thinks of this lady in the gym calling him corny before he was super famous."

Information reads: "A women who went to school with Michael B. Jordan was interviewing him on the red carpet but Michael remembers when she used to call him “corny” back in school…. Success really is the best revenge."
