Jonathan Majors’ lawyer shares with TMZ alleged texts sent to the actor from his girlfriend

Actor Jonathan Majors’ girlfriend who called cops after he allegedly hit and choked her, has reportedly admitted she’s to blame and doesn’t want to press charges against him.

Jonathan Majors’ lawyer shares with TMZ alleged texts sent to the actor from the woman.

Jonathan Majors' attorney says she has receipts regarding the assault claims against her client -- texts in which the alleged victim admits she's to blame, and says she doesn't want the actor prosecuted.

Majors' lawyer Priya Chaudhry tells TMZ ... the woman in question sent a few texts to the "Creed III" actor hours after his arrest last weekend, "admitting that she was the one who used physical force against him."

In the texts Chaudhry claims the woman sent, she says how angry she was Jonathan had been handcuffed ... and she adds, "Will make sure nothing happens about this. I told them it was my fault for trying to grab your phone."

The text exchange continued a few hours later, with the woman reiterating she's pushing hard to make sure the D.A. doesn't charge Jonathan for the incident.

Chaudhry says she has turned these texts over to law enforcement.

As we reported, Majors was arrested for misdemeanor assault, aggravated harassment, attempted assault, and harassment ... after the woman allegedly saw another woman texting him and tried to sneak a peek at his phone.

In one message, the accuser said she told police this was not an attack and they do not have her blessing for any charges.

She also said no strangulation occurred and Majors called because she collapsed and passed out.

Police sources did say Majors called 911 himself to report his concern about his girlfriend, with whom he lives. However, when police arrived, sources say the girlfriend told a different story -- that she and Majors were in a cab on the way home from Brooklyn when he physically attacked her.

Patrol officers noticed marks on the woman's body, and they placed Majors under arrest.

Majors was charged with strangulation, assault, and harassment. When asked about the text messages, the Manhattan District Attorney's office says it is "still investigating."

Majors is one of the fastest-rising stars in Hollywood. After breaking through in 2019's "The Last Black Man in San Francisco," Majors has starred in "Da 5 Bloods," "The Harder They Fall" and last year's "Devotion." He also stars in the recent Sundance Film Festival entry "Magazine Dreams," which Searchlight Pictures is to release in December.
