The Anambra State Police Command has arrested one Mr Ikechukwu Obiora for allegedly str@ngling his pregnant wife to d£ath in Otolo Nnewi, Nnewi South LGA of the state.
It was gathered that the suspect att@cked and k#lled his wife, Mrs Ebere Obiora, on Thursday, March 2, 2023 after she delayed in opening the gate for him.
According to reports, the couple got married in August 2022, and were expecting their first child before the incident happened.
Admitting to the crime, Ikechukwu reportedly told his in-laws that, “I returned home in the morning of March 2, 2023, and was knocking at the gate, but my wife did not open immediately.
In that anger, I started shouting at her. I first sl@pped and h#t her from the gate to the house before angrily gr@bbing her on the neck and str@ngling her to d£ath.
I couldn’t believe what happened because I never expected that such actions would lead to her d£ath.
I eventually abandoned the corpse and left out of fear and confusion, after confiding in few persons who I sought advice on what to do.
It was later in the evening that my mother reached out to my wife’s family members.”
