Namibia is Africa's emptiest country due to its huge landmass and low population

Namibia is Africa's emptiest country due to its huge landmass and low population.

There are more cows than people in the country.

On Sundays, you can drive for an hour without seeing anyone.

Beaches can be empty and calm.

You may be the only customer in a bar or restaurant. Walvis Bay Salt Holdings (WBSH) in Namibia is one of Africa's largest producers of solar sea salt.

They process 90 million cubic metres of sea water to produce over 900,000 tons of quality salt yearly.

Walvis Bay supplies over 90% of South Africa’s salt. In Namibia, Fishermen are allowed to catch only 500,000 ton of fish per year in order to preserve fish stock.

However, the coast of Namibia has 1,4 million seals, that consume over 500,000 ton of fish yearly.

Politicians are discussing how to reduce the number of seals.
