Chris Pratt responded to recent hate by quoting a Bible verse and comparing himself to Jesus Christ

Chris Pratt responded to recent hate by quoting a Bible verse and comparing himself to Jesus Christ:

“They hated [Jesus] too.” As time has gone on Chris Pratt has grown in the movie industry becoming more familiar and known, which has only opened him up for more haters. After it was announced that he’d voice Mario in the Super Mario Bros. Movie, everyone attacked the actor even more. Haters claimed that his “Mario voice” would ruin the movie, now it has broken many records since its release. Pratt has responded throughout the years to many different hate comments toward his faith, mainly by quoting the Bible.

Pratt's staunch defense comes in the wake of accusations dating back to June of last year, when it was claimed he attended Hillsong Church, a controversial global megachurch with locations in New York City, Los Angeles and more. The church is known for its stances against LGBTQ+ lifestyle and marriage, as well as other controversies including sexual abuse. Pratt denied attending the megachurch, a claim that was later validated. However, the actor does attend Zoe Church, which has affiliations with Hillsong as well as ties to celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber.

Pratt spoke to Page Six on the red carpet at a special New York screening of Vol. 3, addressing speculation about him being a member of a church alleged to promote anti-LGBTQ+ sentiments. Pratt said he isn't surprised by any of the criticisms from "haters," claiming, "that's nothing new." He then said Jesus went through his share of hate too: "If I was of this world, they would love me just like that but as it is, I’ve chosen out of this world. That’s John 15:18 through 20," he said. "That’s the way it is, nothing new, 2,000 years ago they hated him, too."..
